Prestige Credit Cards
If you qualify for a prestige credit card you should apply for one straight away! Prestige credit cards - such as gold cards or platinum cards - are the shinier versions of normal credit cards in more ways than one.
The biggest benefit of a gold or platinum credit card is the increased credit limit, allowing you to spend much more on the card than usual.
Gold and platinum credit cards also come packed with free extra's such as
- travel insurance, or
- purchase protection insurance
This means that as a consumer you are protected just that little bit more. Some prestige cards even boast real VIP extra's such as a concierge service.
You do have to be over a certain age and earning a certain amount to qualify for a Gold or Platinum credit card - but the benefits of these cards are fantastic.
Gold
- Enjoy a higher credit limit and benefit from a host of free services and extras.
- A gold credit card is the right type of card for you if you want a bit more oomph to your spending power or feel you’ll benefit from many of the free extra's available to gold card holders. You will have to be over a certain age and earning a certain amount though.

Platinum
- Enjoy a much higher credit limit and be treated like a VIP with all the card's added extras.
- A platinum credit card is the right type of card for you if you want a very high credit limit and a bunch of extra's that'll make you feel like a VIP. Platinum cards can be tricky to get unless you have a good credit score, are of a certain age and earn a good salary.
