More about this card...
As a platinum card, the Natwest Platinum credit card is only available to those over 25 and earning at least £25,000 per annum.
The benefits of the card, however, are fantastic.
On top of the maximum £20,000 credit you could be given (subject to status), you can also enjoy a very lengthy 0% introductory period for balance transfers, as well as a shorter 6-month interest freee period for purchases.
A great time to make big purchases
If you are planning to make a large purchase, this card is perfect.
It offers you a full 6 months of zero percent interest.
Naturally, to get the most out of the card, you should pay it back in full before the introductory period expires. This is particularly important if you are making use of the balance transfer facility too, as you will not be able to pay off any outstanding balances on purchases until your balance transfer has been paid off in full.
Transfer outstanding balances and save
If you are already shelling out hefty interest fees on another card, you could transfer your balance across to the Natwest Platinum credit card and enjoy a 0% interest rate for a very generous 13 months.
There is a 2.9% handling fee for balance transfers.
While the APR on this card is lower than most of its competitors, you should be sure to try and pay the balance off before the end of the introductory period, or be prepared to transfer again.
Free extended warranty for your appliances
A fantastic little extra available to Natwest Platinum credit card holders is the free extended warranty available for up to 4 household appliances purchased with this card.
The extended warranty is a second year warranty added to the manufacturer's standard one year warranty. It will cover your household appliance against mechanical or electrical breakdown or accidental damage causing a breakdown.
You will need to register the item within 60 days to be covered, and the service is limited to 4 household appliances.
Final word
While we would love to see a longer period of zero percent for purchases, we think that everything else offered by the Natwest Platinum credit card more than makes up for it.
If you fit the minimum criteria for consideration, we can think of few other cards that offer as much as this one.
